Maintains the familiar features of the earlier iPhone models like Touch ID and home button.
Easy to hold and use one-handed, with your thumb comfortably reaching most areas of the screen.
Supports wireless charging. A bunch of compatible charging pads are already available for purchase and in public places.
Supports iOS 14, so you can enjoy its latest features like Dark Mode.
Upgraded display adjusts to the lighting conditions you’re in, which makes the screen look better (even though otherwise the screen is the exact same as the iPhone 7).
❌ Reasons not to buy
The battery will likely not last a full day, so keep a charging cable nearby.
Design is bezel heavy and looks outdated. The latest phones are do not have bezels.
Glass on both the front and back of the phone make it slippery to hold, so it’s important to buy a case or bumper.
⚖️ The Verdict
Released in 2018, the iPhone 8 is much cheaper than the X and other more recent models. However, it’s camera, display, and other features are comparable to the newer models, making the iPhone 8 a lower cost, quality purchase.
